Project Description

Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction Strategies

Client: Civil Aviation Administration of China, U.S.-China Aviation Cooperation Program, USTDA

L&B led the development of recommended Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction (ECER) strategies for airports in China, as well as development of an implementation plan for the recommended ECER strategies and an associated Executive Level Training Program. Recommendations were based on information gathered during Site Visits and Staff Interviews with airports and airlines at six cities in varying climates and geographical settings:

  • Beijing
  • Shanghai
  • Kunming
  • Guangzhou
  • Harbin
  • Haikou

The results are a framework for the implementation of recommended ECER plans, programs, requirements, and milestones in China that will serve to meet the Civil Aviation Administration of China’s goals to lower the energy consumption and carbon emissions levels in air transport through technology and management innovation.
