Project Description
Nashville International Airport
Client: Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority
Landrum & Brown (L&B) is currently completing several contracts for the Nashville Metropolitan Airport Authority at Nashville International Airport (BNA) that address the four key areas of airport sustainability: Environmental Stewardship, Operational Efficiency, Natural Resource Conservation, and Social Responsibility. We have successfully completed a major terminal study with Strategic Planning Services, where we played a key role in the selection and planning for a new Terminal Il site. The F&O department began work on the BNA Master plan in March of this year, where we will complete planning, including developing aviation demand forecasts, facility requirements, airport layout plans, and more. The Environmental Department is also in the beginning stages of the NEPA process for a runway extension. As part of the Master Plan, L&B is developing campus-wide sustainability goals that will be incorporated into the airport’s facility/infrastructure requirements. Focus areas include SAF, renewable energy sources, and waste management innovations. The sustainability goals will be used as screening criteria within the Alternatives Analysis.
