Project Description

Denver International Airport

Client: Denver International Airport

L&B has performed various on-call planning services for Denver International Airport (DEN) since the initial planning and design of the airport occurred.

L&B conducted an analysis to define the benefits of the new sixth runway. SIMMOD simulations were conducted for the baseline five‑runway airfield and the proposed six-runway airfield at existing and future demand levels.

L&B has worked with the City of Denver and key stakeholders including the FAA in support of providing collaborative efforts in the decision making process for future airfield/airspace expansion. Using SIMMOD, the L&B airfield/airspace planning team has conducted various analyses of future runways, taxiways, concourse and terminal expansion concepts at DEN.

Results from the detailed L&B simulation analyses has helped the City of Denver in making decisions for the need, timing and development of future capital improvements to the Airport.
